Our Joint Defense Support Group within SPA’s Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports the Surface community and Navy components by providing program management, requirements management, force development, and readiness support in Washington DC and Fleet areas. We deliver strategic assessments, planning, and operational support to maritime forces and allied navies, playing key roles in addressing national security challenges.

Position Details

SPA seeks an immediate Navy Recruiting Public Affairs Program Specialist in Great Lakes, IL supporting NTAG Great Lakes. CJ #IN123

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategic communication products and talking points for NTAG leadership.
• Support the development of an integrated communications program, including a national advertising campaign across TV, radio, magazines, internet, social media, and job postings.
• Manage website and social media platforms, creating content and engaging audiences to enhance Navy recruiting efforts.
• Capture, respond to, and synthesize social media content.
• Provide photographic support for Navy recruiting events.
• Write articles about major Navy recruiting initiatives.
• Support event planning and travel to Navy recruiting events, providing public affairs, photographic, and strategic communication support.

Travel is required, and a hybrid work schedule (about half-time) is possible.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience in public affairs, social media, journalism, or communications
• Ability to travel for Navy events
• Strong project management skills with adherence to deadlines
• Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one

Desired:

• Experience working with executive leadership
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite for graphic design, social media, and writing
• Strategic communication experience at the executive level
