Job summary

HII Mission Technologies – Global Security (GS) division is seeking a Navy NETTN Network Control Technician to administer, maintain, and defend Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network infrastructure. This role supports the Tidewater regional team with travel to multiple sites and may include extended shifts.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years with Masters; 0 with PhD or J.D. or 9 years with HS diploma.
• Security+ or equivalent certification required.
• US Secret security clearance required.
• Windows desktop OS experience (WIN10 SHB).
• Experience with Cisco switching/troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Experience with DoD STIG guidance and patching Microsoft servers/workstations.
• Experience with VMware and network monitoring tools (SolarWinds).
• Strong technical troubleshooting and reading/digesting technical information.
• Strong attention to detail and customer-focused approach.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains operation of LAN/WAN and VPN.
• Plans, coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware/software network elements.
• Maintains network hardware/software interconnection & interfacing.
• Proposes cost-saving network solutions based on future needs.
• Maintains network documentation and operational instructions.
• Monitors network performance and plans for long-range needs.
• Coordinates third-party maintenance for network equipment.
• Collaborates with teams to update and maintain servers and devices.
• Performs Windows server administration and STIG-compliant patching.
