Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a seasoned Windows/VMware Systems Administrator to manage the Navy NETTN infrastructure, emphasizing Windows Server, VMware ESXi, and STIG compliance. You’ll implement hardening, patching, GPOs, DHCP, and oversee backups while coordinating with cross‑functional teams to maintain enterprise security standards.

Qualifications

• 10 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 8 years with a Master’s; or 14 years relevant experience with a High School diploma/equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter).
• Familiarity with VDI technologies and connection protocols.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
• Must hold and maintain an active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensures reliable operation and performance of multi‑user Windows server and VMware systems, coordinating as needed with other network and systems administrators.
• Manages VMware infrastructure including provisioning, monitoring, performance tuning, and lifecycle maintenance of virtual machines.
• Performs Windows Server administration including account management, GPO development, patching, and system configuration.
• Maintains system documentation and ensures compliance with DoD cybersecurity and configuration standards.
• Evaluates hardware and software solutions, coordinates installations, and manages system backups and recovery processes.
• Develops and enforces policies and standards related to system resources, capacity allocation, and configuration management.
