Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Mission Manager for the Navy Domain to partner with Navy Tech Leads to establish a technical roadmap for mission outcomes and coordinate feedback from Delivery to Product.

The role requires guiding a delivery team, aligning product roadmaps with technical roadmaps, and ensuring value delivery through secure, scalable software practices. Travel 4–12 times per year; remote options available within the USA.

Qualifications

Must be a US citizen with an active SECRET clearance.
Experience translating pain points into root-cause problems and building value-delivery roadmaps with engineers.
Proficiency in modern software development processes including DevSecOps, CD, and user-centered design.
Experience in DoD software delivery and managing cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Mission Manager for the Navy Domain and align with Navy Tech Leads on technical roadmaps.
Collaborate to translate mission needs into delivery roadmaps and features for value delivery.
Balance priorities across users, customers, stakeholders, and the team to deliver mission value at scale.
Facilitate feedback between Delivery and Product about OSS projects and productized services.
