Forterra is seeking a Navigation Software Engineer in Clarksburg, MD to build and validate localization for autonomous vehicles. You will work on real‑time C++ code, sensor‑fusion filters, and GNSS processing, ensuring robustness when GNSS is degraded or denied.

The role involves end‑to‑end development across validation, field testing, and safety‑relevant outputs, collaborating with autonomy, safety, perception and vehicle teams.

Formación

• 2+ years of experience developing navigation, state estimation or sensor‑fusion software in industry or research.
• BS or MS in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or related field.
• Strong C++ skills and knowledge of Kalman filtering, INS and GNSS.

Responsabilidades

• Be a key member of Forterra's Navigation team.
• Take responsibility for well‑scoped pieces of the navigation stack affecting field performance.
• Develop and improve sensor‑fusion estimators and implement/tune Kalman-filter‑based navigation.
• Work on GNSS processing and carrier‑phase techniques; assess integrity, jamming and spoofing.
• Capture data, run replays and regression metrics; report pass/fail results.
