Job summary

Forterra seeks a Localization Integration Engineer to deploy and scale navigation software across vehicle platforms. You’ll work with state estimation and navigation engineers to ensure GNSS/INS localization stack performs across diverse vehicles, sensors, and compute platforms.

This hands-on role focuses on integration, system debugging, platform bring-up, and interface development, with occasional on-site travel for vehicle bring-up and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering or related field.
• Experience with robotics systems, autonomy, or embedded platforms.
• Ability to debug and integrate complex navigation software.

Responsibilities

• Integrate localization software onto new vehicle platforms and compute environments.
• Bring up and validate GNSS/IMU/encoder sensors and other navigation sensors.
• Develop and maintain hardware/software interfaces (sensor drivers, communication interfaces).
• Debug system-level issues from sensor inputs to state estimation outputs.
• Support vehicle testing, data collection, and performance validation.
• Collaborate with state estimation engineers to tune configurations.
• Build tools and scripts to support calibration, validation, and performance analysis.
• Coordinate software versioning and platform dependencies with DevOps for reproducible releases.
• Occasionally travel to support on-site vehicle bring-up and testing.
