Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) seeks a Systems Engineer to join the Integrated Mission Systems team in San Diego, CA. The role supports Navy combat systems and Naval tactical applications, emphasizing configuration management, integration, and documentation.

The candidate will work with cross-functional engineers to ensure security, reliability, and performance, with travel up to 10% and a mandatory active Secret clearance. On-site presence is required 4 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, data science, cyber security, mathematics, or aeronautical engineering (or equivalent full-time experience).
• 3+ years' experience with IT production planning, network architecture, platform integration, STIGs/hardening, TCP/IP and related networking concepts, virtualization, and agile work environments.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of software, systems, integration, information, production, and test engineers to understand requirements and architecture.
• Adhere to government security, reliability, and performance standards.
• Organize test events for Navy combat systems in virtual environments, support land-based and at-sea tests across the U.S. and internationally.
• Develop design documentation for customer reference and provide end-user training.
• Develop solutions and processes to improve customer support and team efficiency.
