Job summary

Sabre Systems, LLC is recruiting a Journeyman Systems Engineer to support the Navy’s PMA-208 at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on the BQM-177A aerial target, leading engineering investigations, IFCs, and requirements management across multiple sites.

Candidate will work in a local hybrid/on-site environment with potential travel; DoD clearance and US citizenship required. Prior aerial target experience not required but familiarity is provided by PMA-208.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of general engineering experience.
• At least two (2) years of recent and relevant systems engineering experience.
• Understanding of core systems concepts (ECPs, flight clearance, risk management, etc.)
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
• US citizen.
• Prior aerial target experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on production upgrades and platform changes.
• Lead teams on projects and engineering investigations to resolve fielded system issues.
• Generate Interim Flight Clearances for tests and fleet operations.
• Manage requirements and develop subsystem specifications.
• Develop statements of work and evaluate technical proposals.
• Coordinate system interfaces and configuration requirements.
• Prepare and run technical reviews and program meetings.
• Prepare operator manuals and data packages.
• Lead program risk management and reporting for the BQM-177 program.
• Contribute to engineering change proposals and POM data.
