Job summary

Sabre Systems, LLC in Lexington Park, MD, seeks a Journeyman Systems Engineer to support the Navy’s PMA-208 at NAS Patuxent River. The role involves leading technical assessments for the BQM-177A Subsonic Aerial Target, coordinating with OEMs, suppliers, and government entities to ensure production and upgrades meet requirements.

Responsibilities include requirements management, risk tracking, IFCs, technical reviews, and developing statements of work.

Qualifications

• Must have a BA/BS degree in a technical or scientific field.
• Seven years of general engineering experience.
• At least two years of recent and relevant systems engineering experience.
• Understanding of core systems concepts (ECPs, flight clearance, safety products, software development process, risk management, requirements management).
• Demonstrated engineering expertise in a relevant area.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and decisions regarding production and upgrades to the platform and threat payloads.
• Lead the team on technical projects and engineering investigations to resolve fielded system issues.
• Generate and release Interim Flight Clearances (IFCs) for Test & Evaluation and fleet operations.
• Perform requirements management and subsystem specification development.
• Develop Statements of Work and conduct technical evaluations for program execution.
• Manage system interfaces and coordinate configuration requirements.
• Prepare and execute Technical Reviews and Interchange Meetings; support PMRs.
• Prepare and release operator manuals and data packages.
• Lead program risk management and reporting via the NAVAIR ISEEv2 tool.
• Support proposals with engineering analyses for ECPs and changes.
