Job summary

Serco is hiring a Shipyard Laborer to support U.S. Naval Ships in Norfolk, VA. You will perform manual labor on-board ships, assist with cabling, and help install basic electromechanical assemblies under safety guidelines.

Role requires a High School Diploma, ability to obtain a secret clearance, US citizenship, and willingness to work second/third shifts plus overtime. Travel up to 10% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Available for second or third shift and overtime when needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and commute to Newport News, VA as needed.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.
• Duties include fire watch, welder's helper, and installing electric cable when required.
• Work under immediate supervision; typical tasks under supervision.
• Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE for shipboard work.
• Report to a supervisor or manager and coordinate with team members.
