Job summary

Noblis MSD is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support US Navy ship programs, focusing on oil pollution abatement within the wastewater code. The role involves engineering, technical, and logistics support across Navy/Coast Guard and allied ships, including NOW systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities include designing mechanical systems, calculations, prototyping, testing, and documentation. This is an on-call part-time position requiring a SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of related experience.
  • US citizen with SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with equipment design principles and 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
  • Experience reviewing models/drawings for manufacturability and documenting drawings/manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Create mechanical designs and drawings.
  • Write precise calculations.
  • Create and test prototypes for functionality.
  • Re-engineer products and recalculate for full functionality.
  • Prepare reports and leadership documentation.
  • Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements.
