HII is seeking a Shipboard HVAC Technician for the Aircraft Carrier Climate Control Improvement Team in Norfolk, VA. You will troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems aboard US Navy ships, with up to 25% travel and a requirement to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering hands-on work on marine electrical and mechanical equipment. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or trade school, 4+ years of related experience, and proficiency with HVAC electrical

Qualifikationen

• High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
• Must have experience troubleshooting, evaluating, diagnosing, and repairing ships' HVAC electrical systems including fans, motors, control circuits, electric heaters, and thermostatic controls.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
• Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC badge.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain base access.
• Candidate must be able to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%.

• Troubleshooting and repairing ships' HVAC mechanical and electrical systems/equipment.
• Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
• Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.
• Performs a variety of complicated and non routine tasks. Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
• Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
