Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking an HVAC Chiller Mechanic at our Norfolk location to maintain and service chilled water air conditioning plants and refrigeration systems on U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to service calls in a demanding, shipboard environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain government clearances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience with mechanical troubleshooting and service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain required government clearances and other worksite specific badges.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of Chilled Water Air Conditioning Plants, Refrigeration Systems and related equipment for U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels.
• Perform inspection, diagnosis, servicing, repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot HVAC mechanical, and some electrical and controls problems.
• Respond to service and warranty calls.
• Inspect, diagnose, service and repair mechanical systems with various tools.
• Perform belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment.
• Perform prescribed non-destructive tests and deliver samples for analysis.
