Job summary

NASSCO Bremerton is seeking a planner/estimator to develop work specifications and detailed cost estimates for ship repair and upgrade projects. You will use drawings, Navy standards, and the NMD system to create accurate labor and material estimates for government and commercial vessels and to coordinate with subcontractors.

The role requires strong reading of drawings, MS Office proficiency, and effective communication to resolve planning conflicts.

Qualifications

• Typically has a BA/BS in a related field, or AA/AS plus two years related experience, or six years related experience.
• Must be familiar with working in a Navy ship repair environment.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create NMD availabilities, Work Specifications, and Estimates.
• Develop, issue and distribute planning documents and work items.
• Establish execution approach for work requirements with project management.
• Prepare work breakdown structures to support proposals and negotiations.
• Interface with Subcontracts Group to resolve issues.
