Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is hiring for a role that oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects. You will serve as a liaison between project management, planning, the project team, and line management to ensure progress and alignment with client expectations.

Required are a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of exempt experience, or a Master’s with 1 year; additional apprenticeships and NNPS credentials are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
• Apprentice School and NNPS qualifications are preferred
• Possible combinations of education and experience to meet role requirements

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects
• Acts as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
• Reviews project status and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring progress and for intervention and problem solving

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

Associate's Degree or 2-year program + 2 years experience

Military Paygrade E-5 or above

High School/GED + 4 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience

High School/GED + 8 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience
