Job summary
Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a Navy Mechanical Planner Estimator to support Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA. The role focuses on shipboard mechanical systems, estimating, QA, and material procurements. You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate with SHAPEC EPD for ship maintenance tasks. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required. Familiarity with AIM/ATIS/CITIS/SDI/MRQT is expected.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
10 years of practical engineering experience in naval ships or shipyards.
Experience in Los Angeles Class and Virginia Class submarine maintenance.
Knowledge of propulsion and major ship systems listed.
US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
Familiarity with AIM, ATIS, CITIS, SDI, MRQT and related documentation.
Responsibilities
Provide trouble desk support and engineering technician services including specifications, material, QA and test requirements, project estimating, and technical correspondence.
Perform ship checks for actual shipboard conditions.
Prepare task group instructions using AIM, ATIS, SDI, CITIS, JEDMICS, MRQT and related docs.
Review job summaries/TGIs written by SHAPEC EPD.
Mentor junior engineers on shipboard systems.
Prepare QA documents in conjunction with DM2.
Compile Allowance Parts Lists (APL).
