Job summary

Noblis MSD is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support naval ship programs with focus on oil pollution abatement in the wastewater code and related mechanical systems. Responsibilities include designing, evaluating, testing, and documenting mechanical equipment for Navy, Coast Guard, Army, and allied ships, with emphasis on NOW systems, waste transfer, separators, and process monitors.

The role involves on-call part-time hours, creating drawings, performing calculations, and preparing leadership

Qualifications

• US citizen and an active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one.
• Experience with equipment design principles.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
• Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts.
• Experience with documentation development including drawings, technical manuals (operation, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair), bill of materials
• Familiarity with military specifications for technical design.

Responsibilities

• Creating mechanical designs and drawings
• Writing precise calculations
• Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
• Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
• Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
• Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or Electrical Engineering
