Job summary

Serco is seeking a highly skilled HM&E Systems Engineer to support U.S. Navy Surface Ships. You will provide technical and lifecycle management across propulsion and auxiliary systems, coordinating with Navy stakeholders and regional maintenance centers.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of naval shipboard engineering experience or a High School Diploma with at least 4 years of naval shipboard experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship configuration, management principles, processes and activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient in eARRTS and HARs or related Navy advisory tools.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machinery and propulsion directives; review gas turbine propulsion systems and related equipment.
• Provide engineering, technical, and analytical support for HM&E ship systems.
• Analyze equipment failures and maintenance actions; develop findings and corrective actions.
• Perform lifecycle engineering assessments including sustainment and modernization considerations.
• Review and support development of technical documentation and installation procedures.
• Draft and support Naval advisory messages and communications to fleet personnel.
