Job summary

Serco is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive Navy security system projects, including access control, surveillance, and perimeter protection. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage baselines, and lead technology refresh strategies to ensure system performance and readiness.

A Top Secret eligible clearance is required, with a strong background in DoD contracts and lifecycle sustainment. You will mentor engineers, prepare technical briefings, and collaborate with Navy stakeholders

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; related substitutions allowed.
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience in DoW/DoD contracts and related sectors.
• Strong understanding of lifecycle sustainment, requirements management, and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities for Navy physical and electronic security systems (Access Control, Surveillance, IDS, Perimeter & Infrastructure, C2).
• Manage RDT&E efforts: evaluate new tech, refresh planning, prototype assessment, integration analysis, transition support.
• Support test planning, tech demonstrations, system assessments, and fielding readiness activities.
• Maintain hardware/software baselines, configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and verification.
• Develop and manage a systems configuration database, including lifecycle status and tech refresh timelines.
• Develop a status dashboard showing modernization, readiness, risks, and decisions for leadership.
