Job summary

MIKEL INC. seeks a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to support NUWCNPT in Middletown, RI. You will model internal and external flows with OpenFOAM or similar tools, executing CFD tasks from geometry to post-processing.

The role requires a strong fluid mechanics background, experience with turbulence models, and the ability to verify results. US citizenship and SECRET clearance are required.

Qualifications

Solid foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and mechanical design.
Advanced knowledge of CFD and numerical modeling techniques.
Hands-on CFD experience using OpenFOAM or comparable software.

Responsibilities

Develop, set up and execute CFD models in OpenFOAM/ANSYS or other suites.
Create and refine meshes; conduct mesh convergence studies.
Verify/validate CFD results against data and literature.
Post-process, visualize and present findings to mixed audiences.
Automate simulations and perform parametric studies.
Contribute to proposals and funding efforts.
Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
