Job summary

MIKEL INC. is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to support naval undersea warfare programs from Middletown, RI. The role focuses on physics-based CFD modeling, fluid mechanics, and numerical methods with hands-on OpenFOAM experience.

The engineer will develop CFD models, perform mesh convergence studies, validate results, and present findings to diverse audiences. Strong Linux, Python/C++, and documentation skills are required, with eligibility for a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
• Advanced knowledge of CFD modeling techniques and numerical methods.
• Experience with OpenFOAM or similar software for internal/external flow.

Responsibilities

• Develop, set up, and execute CFD models using OpenFOAM/ANSYS or equivalent.
• Mesh generation, boundary condition setup, solver selection, and turbulence model setup.
• Post-process results and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Automate simulations and contribute to proposals/grants.
