Job summary

BCP Engineers & Consultants is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer for a short-term engagement in Wilmington, NC. The role requires hands-on CFD expertise and a DOE Q clearance to support process/equipment analyses.

Responsibilities include building and validating CFD models using ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM, and delivering results in technical reports while collaborating with mechanical, process, and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, Chemical, or related engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated hands‑on CFD experience.
• Active DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform CFD modeling and simulation to support engineering analysis of process/facility systems.
• Develop, run, and validate CFD models using standard industry software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM).
• Analyze fluid flow, thermal, and/or gas separation behavior relevant to program equipment and processes.
• Document methodology, assumptions, and results in technical reports.
• Support design reviews and provide engineering recommendations to project engineers.
• Collaborate with mechanical, process, and safety engineering staff.
