Job summary

iQuasar LLC seeks an experienced Acoustic Engineer to support the USS Navy VIRGINIA Class program at the Washington Navy Yard, DC. You will work with the Acoustics Systems Integration Team, interfacing with NAVSEA and program leadership to analyze submarine acoustic performance and advise on design, testing, and fleet introduction activities.

The role requires a US citizenship, a Secret clearance, and a minimum of five years in related engineering fields.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience presenting technical information to senior leadership.
• Ability to travel up to approximately 10%.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support PMS 450 in the evaluation of proposed submarine designs and arrangements.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of applicable ship specification sections and first-tier references.
• Review technical and engineering submittals and provide assessments, recommendations, and potential actions.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to consolidate differing technical viewpoints and identify impacts.
• Interface with NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holders and other technical authorities.
• Assist program engineering leadership in resolving conflicting technical viewpoints and program constraints.
• Support and co-lead NAVSEA Ship's Silencing Working Group, including audits and ship checks.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate with Systems Integration Teams to resolve them.
• Support review and adjudication of design products and technical documentation.
• Serve as a technical liaison among PMS 450, NAVSEA, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain regular communication with the customer regarding technical activities and status.
• Establish relationships with program managers and technical leads.
• Lead and participate in program reviews addressing technical performance, schedule, and cost.
• Provide acquisition-management planning and execution support.
• Lead technical discussions and deliver briefings to leadership.
