Job summary

Chemia Biosciences, Inc. is seeking a full-time Research Assistant or Associate for the natural products group. The role focuses on mass-spectrometry guided isolation of bioactive compounds from microbial sources, requiring a Ph.D. in organic or analytical chemistry. Experience with MS data collection or HPLC purification is a plus.

You will work with LC-MS, HPLC, NMR, and flash chromatography, handling multiple projects while communicating results across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry (or related equivalent experience).
• Experience with mass spectrometry data collection.
• Familiarity with flash chromatography and HPLC purification.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High levels of safety awareness, personal integrity and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Collect tandem mass spectrometry data on a large number of microbial sources.
• Purify small molecules, peptides, polyketides, and oligosaccharides from microbial fermentations.
• Interpret experimental data from a variety of analytical techniques with reliability and accuracy.
• Manage schedules to advance multiple projects concurrently.
• Present and share results within the group and project team.
