Job summary

Chemia Biosciences, Inc. is seeking a full-time Research Assistant or Associate for the natural products group. The role focuses on mass-spectrometry guided isolation of bioactive compounds from microbial sources, requiring a Ph.D. in organic or analytical chemistry. Experience with MS data collection or HPLC purification is a plus.

You will work with LC-MS, HPLC, NMR, and flash chromatography, handling multiple projects while communicating results across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry (or related equivalent experience).
Experience with mass spectrometry data collection.
Familiarity with flash chromatography and HPLC purification.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
High levels of safety awareness, personal integrity and ethics.

Responsibilities

Collect tandem mass spectrometry data on a large number of microbial sources.
Purify small molecules, peptides, polyketides, and oligosaccharides from microbial fermentations.
Interpret experimental data from a variety of analytical techniques with reliability and accuracy.
Manage schedules to advance multiple projects concurrently.
Present and share results within the group and project team.
