System One, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Research Associate to join the Discovery Chemistry Group in the Analytical Research department in South San Francisco, CA. The role supports small-molecule drug discovery by purifying small molecules, peptides, and macrocycles, primarily using preparative HPLC.

A strong background in purification and analytical chemistry is essential. The ideal candidate has hands-on chromatography experience (RP, NP, IEX, SPE), MS and NMR proficiency, and is comfortable

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry required; Master's considered.
• Strong knowledge of purification and chromatography techniques (RP, NP, IEX, SPE).
• Hands-on MS and NMR experience; LC-MS desirable.
• 2 years post-college experience preferred; academic lab acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Purify small molecules for drug discovery.
• Purify small molecules, peptides, macrocycles using preparative HPLC.
• Develop HPLC methods.
• Summarize, interpret, and present analytical data.
• Troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Interact with chemists to support projects.
• Present findings at group meetings.
• Keep up to date with latest methods and technologies (HPLC, LC-MS, automation).
• Contribute to innovation and teamwork with state-of-the-art technology.
