Sprague Resources GP LLC is seeking a Natural Gas Business Analyst to analyze and document existing processes within the natural gas unit. You will propose enhancements, translate requirements into actionable user stories, and partner with IT and stakeholders to implement improvements.

The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking, the ability to work under pressure, and experience with business analysis in energy. This is a full-time role based in Portsmouth, NH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of energy industry experience preferred, especially in natural gas/electric operations.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of business analysis techniques/tools and project management methodologies.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail; prioritize workload under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, SQL, or Python experience.

Responsibilities

• Audit existing processes and procedures in the natural gas business unit to identify inefficiencies, documentation gaps, and data clarity issues.
• Identify stakeholders and process owners to drive positive changes.
• Document current-state workflows and validate with BA Manager and stakeholders.
• Design improved workflows using modern applications and technologies.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure applications reflect business knowledge.
• Lead meetings to validate requirements before IT implementation.
• Create functional scripts to test new or enhanced applications and coordinate user testing.
• Coordinate conversion procedures for smooth transitions to new systems.
• Ensure user training and adoption of implemented systems.
