Job summary

Fargo Public Schools is seeking a part-time Academic Support Specialist to work at North and South High Schools, averaging 19.75 hours per week with a Monday–Friday schedule during a 9-month term. Mentors will support Native American students to improve academic skills, attendance, and wellness, while strengthening school-family partnerships.

Responsibilities include direct academic support with a caseload, coordinating with the Native American Education Coordinator, and facilitating Warrior

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working or volunteering in a K-12 school setting.
• Ability to communicate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
• Basic academic and computer skills.
• Knowledge of Native American culture, history, values, and communities.

Responsibilities

• Academic Support: works directly and collaboratively with a caseload of individual Native American students and their families, and school staff, with a focus on improving student academic skills.
• Other Duties: Carries out other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Native American Coordinator.
