Job summary

San Juan Elementary seeks a Native American Liaison to strengthen ties between Española Public Schools, tribal governments, Native American students, families, and community organizations. The role advocates for educational equity and culturally responsive practices within district programs.

The incumbent will coordinate services, support family engagement, and help implement state and federal guidance for Native American education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with Native American communities or educational programs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; knowledge of Native languages desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct academic tutoring and intervention for Native American students.
  • Monitor student outcomes and coordinate with families and schools to improve equity.
  • Develop and implement family engagement and community outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with district staff to ensure culturally responsive practices.
