Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in drinking water treatment engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; licensure in states preferred, including VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical process and water quality expertise for municipal drinking water treatment, water reuse, and advanced water purification.
• Develop relationships with municipal and private-sector water clients; identify client needs and secure new work.
• Process design in feasibility studies, facility plans, and process pilot testing for complex water projects.
• Advise preliminary design including basis of design reports and preliminary drawings for complex water projects.
• Guide development and quality control review of process flow diagrams, design criteria, and P&ID diagrams.
• Evaluate process performance and optimization of existing facilities.
• Participate in water-focused professional organizations and present technical material at conferences.
• Collaborate with Applied Research Group on related projects.
• Team up with private sector staff to support in water quality and treatment processes.
