Job summary

Kennedy Jenks Consultants is seeking a National Water Treatment Technical Expert to lead complex water quality and treatment initiatives for municipal clients. You will provide technical leadership, advise on design, and grow our national water treatment practice.

You will develop client relationships, guide project teams, and collaborate with our Applied Research Group to advance treatment processes, reuse, and optimization with real community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of drinking water treatment engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi-state licensure preferred (CA, CO, FL, HI, OR, TX, VA, WA).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for municipal drinking water treatment, water reuse, and advanced purification projects.
• Develop and maintain client relationships; identify opportunities; lead pursuit strategies for new work.
• Process design in feasibility studies, facility plans, and pilot testing for complex water projects.
• Advise preliminary design reports and drawings for water projects.
• Quality control review of process flow diagrams, design criteria, and P&IDs.
• Evaluate performance and optimize existing water treatment facilities.
• Engage in water-focused professional organizations and present material at conferences.
• Collaborate with Applied Research Group on research projects related to water quality.
• Team with private sector staff to support water treatment projects.
