Job summary

Kimmel & Associates is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations for Class A commercial interior and tenant improvement projects nationwide. This role requires hands-on leadership, strict adherence to plans and specifications, and a commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of superintendent experience, OSHA 30, and the ability to travel nationwide, often with extended overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Significant experience as a Lead Superintendent on commercial interior, tenant improvement, retail, or building renovation projects.
• Ideally 10+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience, with substantial independent project leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage commercial projects valued at approximately $10 million or more.
• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA Competent Person training preferred; First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationwide, including extended overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations and personnel on assigned commercial interior projects.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure work progresses according to the project schedule.
• Ensure materials, equipment, tools, information, and manpower are available when needed.
• Review plans, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Direct subcontractor activities and coordinate multiple trades on active jobsites.
• Maintain daily reports, time sheets, safety documentation, accident reports, and other required project records.
• Monitor jobsite progress, quality, safety, and productivity.
• Conduct site walks and identify potential quality or schedule issues before they impact the project.
• Work with Project Managers and client teams to resolve field issues.
