Job summary

Layton Construction is hiring a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, manage scheduling, procurement, and manpower for ground-up commercial projects, and coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure timely project completion.

The role requires on-site presence, travel to various project locations, and strong leadership to manage subcontractors, safety, and quality standards throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands codes and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction, staffing, and tools.
• Work with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with the Project Manager.
