Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects nationwide, with on-site leadership and relocation as needed. The role emphasizes profitability, safety, quality, and client satisfaction through disciplined project controls.

You will drive planning, budgeting, procurement, and scheduling, coordinate with field teams and subs, and ensure compliance with Layton's standards while delivering predictable, high-quality outcomes for clients across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 5+ years experience in commercial construction.
• Understand estimating concepts to verify bids and change orders.
• Understand contractual language and construction laws.
• Knowledge of building codes and plans/specifications.
• Effective teamwork and ability to delegate to others.
• Strong verbal and written communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, management, procurement, scheduling, and execution.
• Prepare estimates and project budget with the team.
• Develop PMP and conduct pre-award/pre-construction meetings.
• Participate in value engineering, subcontracting, and permits.
• Prepare project schedule with milestones and coordinate with the superintendent.
• Negotiate owner/subcontractor changes and manage costs/profit.
• Oversee monthly pay requests and lien releases with accounting.
• Close out projects with as-built drawings and final documents.
• Manage client relationships and project meetings.
