Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a Sr. Technical Account Manager (TAM) to own the technical trajectory of National Security accounts.

You will lead architecture reviews, drive incident prevention strategies, and coordinate across AWS service teams to keep classified workloads resilient. The role emphasizes executive-level advisory skills, deep secure cloud knowledge, and frequent customer engagement in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• 5+ years designing, developing, operating, and/or consulting in support of distributed applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagements — Conduct deep-dive architecture reviews and operational health assessments to keep customer environments resilient and mission-ready.
• Design secure cloud solutions — Partner with customers to architect and implement cloud-native systems that meet the unique security and compliance demands of classified workloads.
• Drive proactive risk management — Identify operational gaps, surface emerging risks, and work with AWS service teams to resolve issues before they reach production.
• Accelerate adoption of AI/ML and autonomous capabilities — Help customers integrate services like SageMaker, Bedrock, and ECS/EKS into their existing workflows, translating cutting-edge technology into practical, deployable solutions.
• Represent the customer inside AWS — Advocate for your customers' technical needs across AWS service teams, escalation paths, and product roadmap discussions.
