Job Description - National Records Manager (NAT0000009N)

Position: National Records Manager - (NAT0000009N)

Description:

The National Records Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing Records Management policies, procedures, and strategies across Segal offices. This role provides expert guidance on records and information policies, ensuring compliance with company standards, legal, and regulatory requirements in a cost-effective manner. The position supports long-term organizational goals by planning, organizing, and maintaining an enterprise-wide records management program, including digitizing physical records.

This hybrid role is based in our New York office and reports to the Senior Director of National Facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Business Units and administrative staff to create, implement, and maintain Records Inventory using available database technology.
  2. Work with Legal and IT teams to ensure compliance with records retention, storage, and disposition policies.
  3. Provide Records Management training to staff to ensure compliance with established requirements.
  4. Ensure direct reports adhere to company data security and confidentiality policies.
  5. Manage inventory of physical records, ensuring compliance with retention and storage protocols.
  6. Negotiate contracts with external vendors and develop a roadmap for transitioning to digital records.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience leading a records management function.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing teams.
  • Expertise in physical and electronic Records Management principles and practices, with the ability to apply them to real-world challenges while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and build strong relationships.
  • Effective communication skills for complex compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with records management software, preferably Gimmal.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
