Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with national Quality Control leadership to advance QC processes and oversee structural design from schematic through construction. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8-15 years of building related structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems.
• Licensed PE; SE license preferred.
• Experience leading teams of engineers on projects.
• Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
• Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality control initiatives across DLR Group’s Structural Engineering practice by developing, implementing, and continuously improving QC processes and standards.
• Champion a culture of technical excellence by integrating lessons learned and best practices into engineering processes and project delivery.
• Collaborate with regional and national engineering leaders to establish consistent quality standards and improvement strategies.
• Develop and maintain QC procedures, training resources, and best practice guidelines.
• Provide mentorship and training to engineers and technical leaders to strengthen review processes.
• Facilitate project quality reviews and audits to evaluate compliance and communicate insights to leadership.
• Partner with project teams to support independent quality reviews and knowledge sharing across regions.
• Participate in the Integrated Practice QC Work Group to shape firmwide quality initiatives.
• Track and communicate QC performance metrics to engineering leadership.
• Share quality initiatives and lessons learned with the broader engineering community.
