Job summary

DLR Group, an integrated design firm, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer + National Quality Control Leader for a hybrid leadership role in the United States. You will oversee QC initiatives while delivering structural designs from schematic through construction for diverse building types.

You will mentor teams, manage QC processes, and collaborate with architects and engineers across regions. This role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and sustainable design within a national practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8–15 years of building related structural engineering experience.
• Licensed PE; SE preferred.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience with BIM and Revit; proficiency in design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality control initiatives across the Structural Engineering practice.
• Develop, implement, and improve QC processes and standards.
• Collaborate with regional/national leaders to set consistent standards.
• Prepare QC procedures, training resources, and guidelines.
• Mentor engineers and QC reviewers to strengthen review processes.
• Facilitate quality reviews and audits; communicate insights to leadership.
• Support multi-region teams and share best practices across projects.
• Participate in the Integrated Practice QC Work Group.
• Track QC metrics and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support BD efforts through RFPs and client interactions.
