Job summary

Friends of the Children seeks a National Director of Operations & Quality Assurance to provide strategic and operational leadership across the national network. The role oversees quality assurance, enterprise reporting, and network operations while coordinating vendor management, business continuity, and administrative best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, public administration, or related field.
• At least seven years of progressive operational leadership experience.
• Experience developing scalable systems and operational reporting.
• Nonprofit, grant-funded, or multi-site experience; federal grant compliance, facilities management, and certifications preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across teams, manage risk and compliance, and drive accountability.
• Onsite minimum three days per week at the National Center of Excellence in Portland, OR.

Responsibilities

• Lead and refine chapter quality assurance and monitoring processes.
• Maintain the chapter health dashboard and lead risk management.
• Develop and implement operational systems, processes, and standards across the network.
• Oversee quality assurance, grant compliance, monitoring, and corrective actions.
• Manage operational reporting, dashboards, and analytics for risk and progress tracking.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, procurement, and facilities management.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and organizational change.
