Our client, a plant-based wellness company with a portfolio of cannabis and hemp operations throughout the US, is seeking a seasoned National Marketing Operations Director to lead the operational execution of creative marketing programs across a fast-growing portfolio of wellness brands. This role is central to trafficking hundreds of creative assets, managing timelines, and ensuring seamless execution across national and regional campaigns.

Ideal candidates are operationally-minded, detail-obsessed leaders with strong experience in high-volume content development and execution, ideally within a regulated industry, alcohol beverage, and/or CPG (hemp or wellness).

Expertise in project management and collaboration platforms such as Monday.com, Asana, etc. required.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Operations & Project Management

  • Own creative project workflows across multiple brands and channels, from campaign kickoff through asset delivery.
  • Manage detailed marketing calendars, asset production pipelines, and trafficking systems for retail, social, digital, packaging, and in-store activation.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet brand and business goals on time and on budget.
  • Oversee and continuously refine systems and tools (e.g., Monday.com, Google Workspace) to maximize visibility and throughput.
  • Lead and mentor a national team of Field Marketing teams, Contract Event Producers, Agencies and Designers, ensuring they are aligned, resourced, and accountable.
  • Cultivate clear communication, feedback loops, and collaboration between creative and operational stakeholders.
  • Provide support for real-time campaign needs, brand activations, and rapid-response production cycles.

Compliance & Regulatory Sensitivity

  • Review and uphold compliance standards across all creative assets in a regulated industry.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to implement region-specific disclaimers, usage rules.
  • Maintain rigorous attention to detail across production workflows, trafficking approvals, and usage rights documentation.

Budget Ownership

  • Develop and manage marketing and creative operations budgets across national and local initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance and Executive stakeholders to track spend, forecast resource needs, and ensure efficient allocation of funds.
  • Manage vendors in conjunction with op’s and purchasing.
  • Negotiation for freelance talent.

Multi-Brand Portfolio Strategy

  • Operationalize marketing programs for multiple brands at varying stages of growth—ensuring tailored support and aligned asset creation.
  • Ensure consistency in creative execution while respecting the unique voice, goals, and compliance requirements of each brand.
  • Serve as the internal quarterback coordinating timing, talent, and tools to deliver high-quality assets at scale.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project management, creative operations, or marketing execution for high-volume brands or agencies.
  • Prior experience in hemp CPG, alcohol beverage, wellness CPG, or other regulated industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing remote teams and working in a distributed environment.
  • Proven ability to navigate compliance requirements and implement systems that reduce risk while accelerating output.
  • Strong work flow project management and budget ownership experience and ability to manage large-scale marketing and production spends.
  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Expertise in project management and collaboration platforms such as Monday.com, Asana.
  • Calm under pressure and highly adaptive in fast-paced, evolving industries.
  • A natural systems builder who brings structure, clarity, and momentum to complex operations.
  • Collaborative and capable of full agency as a leader who inspires accountability and cross-functional alignment.
