Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a National Field Service Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on mining equipment across the United States. The role requires extensive travel, often up to 6 weeks on the road with 1 week off, and collaboration with engineering and support teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeymen trade/technical certification in electrical systems, welding, or mechanical strongly preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• 5 years' mining experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with VFDs, MCC, and high voltage.
• Industrial electrical systems experience, especially in field service.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a focus on customer service.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs in the field.
• Install and configure electrical components and systems per industry standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to improve equipment performance.
• Document service work and maintain accurate reports on job status and tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service, building strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to address complex problems and implement solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance performance.
