Job summary

Komatsu US is seeking a National Field Service Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on surface mining equipment across the United States. This role requires substantial travel, up to six weeks on the road with a week off, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to keep equipment safe and productive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman trade or technical certification in electrical systems, welding, or mechanical preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• 5 years' mining experience preferred.
• Experience with VFDs, MCC, and high voltage.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to extended periods; flexible hours including weekends/holidays.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs in the field.
• Install and configure electrical components per standards and safety rules.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Document service work with timely reports on job status and completed tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service and build client relationships.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to solve complex issues.
• Stay updated with industry trends to improve performance.
