Job summary

Komatsu US is seeking a National Field Service Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on mining equipment across the United States. The role involves extensive travel, up to six weeks on the road with one week off, and a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and customer service.

As part of the Field Service team, you will diagnose complex electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver top-tier service to customers nationwide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman trade / technical certification in electrical systems, welding or mechanical.
• Clean driving record.
• 5 years' mining experience preferred.
• Experience with VFDs, MCC, and high voltage.
• Proven experience in industrial electrical systems, especially in a field service capacity.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a focus on customer service.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex systems in the field.
• Install and configure electrical components and systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Document service work and maintain accurate and timely reports on job status and completed tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to address complex problems and implement effective solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance personal and team performance.
