Job summary

ACCT, based in Washington, DC, seeks a Vice President of Search Services to lead its national executive search practice, directing presidential and CEO searches and overseeing the full lifecycle of engagements.

You will mentor a national team of consultants, advance equitable hiring practices, manage budgets, and partner with governing boards to deliver exceptional client service and strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required.
• Demonstrated expertise in executive search.
• 10+ years in executive search, higher education leadership, governance or related field.
• At least 5 years of senior leadership & supervisory experience.
• Experience leading complex executive searches with governing boards and multiple stakeholders.
• Budget management experience in a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of community college governance and presidential leadership.
• Strong relationship-building with boards, institutional leaders, and diverse groups.
• Ability to travel nationally 30% - 35%.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee ACCT's executive search practice, including presidential and CEO searches nationwide.
• Develop and manage the Search Services budget, monitor revenue/expenses, and ensure objectives.
• Champion equitable hiring practices and inclusive search committee training.
• Advise governing boards, search committees, and leadership on best practices, governance and confidentiality.
• Lead the Search Services team and national network of consultants.
• Provide strategic oversight of all Search Services operations and client satisfaction.
• Oversee marketing, promotion, and digital presence of Search Services.
• Prepare reports on Search Services activities for the ACCT Board of Directors.
