Position Summary

As a National Chain Sales Representative, you will drive sales growth, provide excellent customer service, and strengthen long‑term relationships with retailers in the Oakland/Macomb/Wayne County areas and other assigned routes such as Sterling Heights and the Auburn Hills/Clarkston areas. The role offers a salary of $60,000 – $65,000 annually plus a commission based on sales performance.

Sales Representative Job Functions

• Meet with store‑level management to discuss sales opportunities, promotions, and new products.
• Write accurate weekly orders, ensuring proper inventory levels and minimizing out‑of‑stocks.
• Sell incremental displays, new items, and additional points of distribution.
• Provide product knowledge and updates on new innovations in the brand portfolio.
• Conduct store‑level business reviews to highlight sales performance, profitability, and opportunities.
• Monitor competitive products and pricing, and share insights with management.
• Execute merchandising programs, including product rotation, shelf schematics, and quality control.
• Work with merchandisers to build displays and support in‑store execution.
• Communicate delivery schedules, order quantities, and service needs to store contacts.
• Prepare and present sales proposals, including profit and margin considerations, to store managers.
• Attend weekly sales meetings at the office and vendor meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and strategies for success.
• Represent D&B Grocers with a positive, professional attitude in all interactions.
• Work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the retail grocery sales environment and beverage industry.
• Strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience: 1-2 years in a related field.
• Computer skills: proficient with Apple iPad, Cell Phone, Microsoft Office.
• Driving: valid Driver's License, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Regular lifting/carrying of products 1–50 lbs.
• Push/pull large quantities of product (100+ lbs.) on pallets, carts, or hand trucks.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach during store visits.
• Comfortable with physical, hands‑on work in retail environments.

Work Environment

National chain retail accounts; grocery departments; loading/product storage areas.
