Job summary

SEIU (Service Employees International Union) seeks a Campaign Director - National Bargaining to lead the bargaining program and strengthen contract campaigns across locals. You will develop strategic plans, supervise staff, and coordinate with affiliate leaders to advance national bargaining priorities.

The role is based in the United States and requires extensive experience in multi-employer negotiations, first contracts, and building durable local capacity for workers’ rights.

Qualifications

• Eight to nine years of related, progressive experience in collective bargaining and contract campaigns.
• Experience leading complex labor negotiations and multi-party contracts.
• Ability to translate national priorities into effective workplans with measurable outcomes.
• Strong judgment to handle politically sensitive issues with leadership alignment.
• Proven ability to build relationships with affiliate leaders and external partners.
• Experience budgeting and managing program resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bargaining program area and develop major plans to strengthen capacity across locals.
• Provide strategic leadership for complex bargaining efforts and campaigns.
• Identify politically sensitive issues and implement decisions in coordination with senior leadership.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with affiliate leaders and senior staff to assess bargaining needs.
• Develop bargaining strategies, tools, standards, and training for local union staff.
• Lead planning and delivery of bargaining training and leadership development initiatives.
• Supervise, coach, and develop staff; establish priorities and ensure high-quality execution of work.
• Manage the defined budget including establishing priorities and overseeing expenditures.
• Represent SEIU with external partners on national bargaining matters.
• Exercise independent judgment to determine success or failure of the National Bargaining program area.
• Perform additional duties as needed in alignment with the Hub's mission.
