Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Air Quality & Acoustics Business Line Lead in the United States. The role focuses on strategic growth, financial performance, market positioning and leadership of the national business line, in collaboration with the TSL and regional/global leaders.

You will drive sales, profitability and utilization while leading major pursuits and cross‑regional initiatives, shaping the practice, and mentoring future leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management or related field with extensive experience.
• Experience on construction project sites or program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
• Proven success in business development, client management and team leadership.
• Experience supporting modern delivery methods and digital transformation initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding work environment and work overtime on short notice.
• Strong collaboration with owners, contractors, engineers and designers to resolve issues.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Drive business performance through sales, revenue, gross margin, backlog, and utilization metrics.
• Develop annual business plans and growth strategies.
• Identify profitability and scalability initiatives.
• Formulate and execute national growth strategies including major pursuits and client engagement.
• Champion commercialization of new service offerings and digital solutions.
• Forecast workforce demand and secure resources to achieve growth objectives.
• Support strategic workforce and succession planning.
• Monitor national utilization and drive cross-regional collaboration to balance workloads.
• Lead business-line vision, investment priorities, and national growth initiatives.
• Build and sustain strategic client relationships and strengthen brand.
• Mentor future leaders and support investments in new offerings and differentiation.
