Job summary

Satsuma Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Director of National Accounts to lead strategic engagement with national health plans, PBMs, and key payers to optimize access and reimbursement for Atzumi. You will shape company-wide payer policy, build executive-level relationships, and collaborate across Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to execute payer strategies.

The role requires 12+ years in market access with at least 8 years in leadership, a deep U.S.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in market access, national accounts, payer strategy, contracting or reimbursement within pharma/biotech/healthcare.
• 8+ years of leadership experience.
• Deep understanding of the U.S. payer, PBM, reimbursement, and formulary landscape.
• Proven experience negotiating with senior-level payer stakeholders.
• Strong strategic, analytical, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic account plans for priority national health plans, PBMs, and other payer organizations.
• Lead payer engagements, including business reviews, value discussions, contracting strategy, negotiations, and ongoing account management.
• Build and mentor a team of National Account Directors to ensure consistent execution of payer strategies.
• Communicate clinical and economic value propositions to payer decision-makers.
• Partner with Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory teams to align strategies.
