Job Purpose

The Director, Channel must leverage the company’s enterprise resources to create and deliver a strategy growing share. This role will oversee a team of national accounts managers managing LP’s siding & structural solutions business at strategic pro-dealer and one-step accounts. This individual will interact with senior leadership and strategic customers, developing & executing strategies to achieve double-digit growth on a business with over $600M in annual sales. The person must be a dynamic leader capable of serving as the central contact point for customer stakeholders and executives, utilizing value-based solutions to meet both customer and company needs, and creating future value.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Building an Effective Team
  • Lead and manage across multiple stakeholders, levels, and functions to drive progress and resolve conflicts.
  • Create new business opportunities aligned with LP’s sales strategy, coordinating sales and marketing resources.
  • Manage customer development efforts, report on metrics, and execute marketing campaigns; serve as an informal leader within the national accounts team.
  • Develop talent within the team to maximize performance and support career growth.
  • Build trust-based relationships with customer stakeholders, supporters, and sponsors.
  • Strategic Focus & Leveraging Insights
    • Provide market insights to LP regarding conditions, potential products, solutions, and financial mechanisms to secure new business.
    • Design strategies using market data, demographics, pricing, and distribution insights.
    • Drive decisions that generate high value and competitive advantage.
    • Deepen understanding of potential business lines to enter critical growth markets effectively.
    • Develop new business lines within LP’s go-to-market strategy, targeting strategic lumberyards and builders.
  • Effective Execution
    • Consistently deliver results through strategic account plan execution and contingency planning.
    • Maintain account plan integrity and ensure team alignment.
    • Prioritize projects and manage deadlines effectively.
    • Address conflicts promptly, ensuring resolution of customer complaints and value co-creation issues.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to interpret business strategies and develop compelling value propositions.
    • Broad industry awareness and big-picture thinking.
    • Executive-level presentation skills.
    • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial skills.
    • Adaptability and decision-making ability under ambiguity.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing; MBA preferred.

    Experience

    • At least 10 years of related experience or equivalent.
    • Building Materials experience is a plus.
    • Previous team and people management experience.

    Work Environment

    • Approximately 50-60% travel required.
    • Remote-based with frequent visits to LP headquarters; schedule may vary.
