Job Summary

The National Account Executive will generate leads, promote, and sell Minneapolis as a premier destination for conventions and meetings, focusing on the Chicagoland area, and achieving room night goals to support local hotels and venues.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out duties assigned by leadership.
  • Achieve room night and other sales goals.
  • Develop new business through prospecting.
  • Maintain communication and manage account activity.
  • Coordinate bid proposals and site inspections.
  • Utilize databases and travel as needed for trade shows and client meetings.
  • Build relationships with meeting planners and industry partners.
  • Participate in industry associations and local meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of local partners and venues.
  • Strive to improve the sales organization and lead by example.
Education/Experience
  • Four-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of hospitality sales experience, with preference for multi-property or convention center experience.
  • Experience selling to the Chicago market is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Analytical skills for assessing business opportunities.
  • Ability to develop business plans and manage budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and office software.
  • Valid driver’s license and proximity to Chicagoland.
Physical Demands
  • Walking, sitting, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, extended computer use, travel.
Working Conditions
  • Remote office in or near Chicagoland.
  • Regional and national travel as required.
Salary

$70,000 - $100,000 base plus incentive plan.
