Boyne Resorts seeks a Race Operations Crew Member to help create a safe, exciting ski racing experience at The Highlands at Harbor Springs. You will set up, operate, and maintain our NASTAR giant slalom course, assisting guests and promoting safety.

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work, teamwork, and sharing a passion for skiing. Expect early mornings, weekends, and varied weather, with opportunities to interact with guests and support a memorable race day.

Qualifications

• Advanced/expert skiing ability required.
• Prior alpine racing, NASTAR, ski racing, or ski industry experience preferred.
• Must be physically active outdoors for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds; perform snow-shoveling tasks.
• Basic computer literacy; operate timing and registration systems.
• Avail for early mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying weather.
• Strong guest service and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare the NASTAR giant slalom course each day.
• Drill and set race gates, install safety fencing, and position timing equipment.
• Inspect the course and equipment for a safe, race-ready environment.
• Operate start gates and electronic timing during races.
• Track racer bib numbers and maintain race/timing information.
• Ski the course to establish the daily zero-handicap time as pace setter.
• Maintain the course via snow-management techniques (side-slipping, shoveling, etc.).
• Assist guests with registration, procedures, rules, and results.
